Tuliptrees are native to the eastern U.S. They are tall trees, reaching 80-90' with long straight trunks and narrow crowns. The leaves can be 3-6" long and wide and turn yellow in the autumn. The flowers are 1 1/2"-2" long wide cups shaped with 6 round yellowish-green petals. Pioneers hollowed out a single tuliptree log to make a long lightweight canoe.
